Introduction




Okay first of all, I will tell you a bit why I created this blog.

I'm here to share with you some ideas, tips as well as products that I personally own that helps me make my life better. These ones cover every aspect of your life : physical, mental and spiritual. I have learned that to be in harmony with yourself you first have to be in harmony with these 3 aspects! Once you've done that, only great things can happen to you!

Some of these products (mainly the spiritual ones) are using the different laws of the universe. The main one being the law of attraction. Maybe you already heard about it or maybe not. One thing is for sure : you are constantly seeing the effects of it everyday even if you don't realize it. I'm not going to start explaining everything about the law of attraction here but it can be resumed by this : like attracts like. By looking at the different products and videos on this blog you will learn a lot more about this law.

A good example is that if anything I'm about to show you here can make your life better at some point, then my own life, as a result of the law of attraction, will also get better. And then you could do the same! Once your life gets better, go out and tell everyone how to get a better life and yours will inevitably keep getting better as well! Can you realize if everyone was doing this how good our whole planet would be!

All right, maybe you already think that I'm crazy and that this last paragraph can't make any sense at all. I can understand this. I was also thinking like that at first. All I'm telling you is keep reading my posts and take a look at the material and ideas I'm showing you. There is so much to gain, all your life can be whatever you want it to be and in such an easy way!

Now I will show you a lot of different products on this blog. Some of them are free while others are not. I'm not telling you to start buying everything that is on this page. I would highly suggest that you at least take a look at the free ones and then (if you want to) choose to buy the products that you find the most appealing to you. One other thing is for sure : I can personally guarantee you that everything I will show out here is of great quality!

The Science of Being Well

Here is again Mr. Wattles with another book : The Science of Being well.

If you have read The Science of Getting Rich, this will be very familiar to you. This time, the author focuses on being healthy instead of being rich. It is still using the same universal principles as in his previous book. Since Mr. Wattles passed away long time ago, it is now taken in charge by Dr. Alexandra Gayek. You read that right, that wonderful lady is a professional doctor. She also added some personal comments and adaptations inside the book since medicine evolved a lot in the last 100 years.

The Secret

What a wonderful movie this is. It is mainly about the law of attraction (that I already mentioned here). The creator of this movie, Rhonda Byrne, was influenced in great part by the first book I presented on this blog : The Science of Getting Rich. In the movie, Mrs. Byrne shares her story but you will also see points of view from many experts, success stories and also some basic stuff you can do to make this law work for you.

Want to get in great physical shape?


Exercising! We all have to do it regularly. Whether it is to loose weight, remain fit or even gain muscles. It all depends on what your goals are. There are no reasons NOT to exercise!

There are so many advantages to be physically active. It has been proven that active people have much less health problems than sedentary ones. And there are so many ways to be active! You can go outside for a walk or a run, go biking, roller blading, climb the steps (or mountains!), go to a gym, skiing, etc!

Even now, with the video game consoles it is possible to exercise in quite a good way! I'm thinking about games like DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) where you have to "dance" and keep the rhythm of the music. This makes your heart rate go up in no time! Another game called Wii Fit is also amazing. As the titles says it plays on Nintendo's Wii console. The game comes with a balance board and there are plenty of exercises available. They are grouped in different categories like aerobic, strength and yoga. I tried it personally and it really is a fun way to exercise! Sure it doesn't beat a visit to your local gym but people have actually lost weight by only using this game!

So now, to tell you a bit more about myself, I'm 25 at the moment and I've only been really active physically for the past 2 years. I have never been overweight. I gained some weight when I became a teenager since I had a very generous babysitter when it came to food...But luckily, as I grew up and got taller, I lost naturally the fat I gained at that early time. For the next years, I did not really practice any sports nor do any kind of exercise on a regular basis. Still, I believed I was in good physical shape and that I had a healthy body. That was until I joined a gym and had my first physical evaluation...More on that in another post.

So as far as exercising is concerned, personally I always try to avoid elevators and I take the stairs. I love putting my roller blades on and getting some fresh air while still exercising. As I said, I joined a gym that I visit regularly. I also recently purchased a great product that allows me to to exercise everyday in the comfort of my home. And no, it's not Wii fit nor DDR!

Beachbody

I'm here to talk to you about my latest discovery in fitness which are the products from that company named BeachBody.

I saw an ad one night on TV from a so called product called the 10 minute trainer. At that time, I've been visiting the gym about 3 times a week for a year and a half where I was always doing those long full body workouts including cardio, strength training and stretching. All of these take about an hour and a half to complete for me.

So when I saw this ad I was like "What the....". This just can't be possible. How could you in 10 minutes have a workout as efficient as an hour workout in a gym. So I kept looking at the ad, trying to find the thing that would convince me that this is just impossible. Guess what, it didn't happen. I 'm not the type of guy who purchases something for nothing. So after viewing the whole thing I visited the website and tried to see some feedback from users who owned it and everyone seemed happy about it. So I finally decided to order it to find out by myself...and guess what, it DOES truly work!

Every workout really lasts 10 minutes. In fact it is ten successive one minute moves. Add 2 minutes for the warmup and another 2 minutes for the cool down if you decide to do them (strongly recommended!) There are different types of of 10 minute workouts available : Total body (works everything), cardio, lower body, abs and yoga flex. If you purchase the "10 minute trainer deluxe" package you will get these 3 additional workouts : Upper body, Total body 2 and Core Cardio. Your package will come with one resistance band (2 additional ones if you buy the deluxe) plus a whole lot of bonus stuff. One of these bonuses include a calendar that tells you which workout to do on each day for the next 30 days. You will also get a cardio belt and a door attachment that you can use to add resistance in your cardio trainings!

As efficient as the workouts are, you should do a single 10 minute workout only when you are really (really!) short on time. If you have more time, do 2 consecutive workouts and if you have a lot of time, do 3 of them! You will see results a lot faster! You could do them at 3 different times in the day but it would be better to do the 3 workouts consecutively. The fact is that the longer you keep your heart rate up, the more calories are burned and the better your whole system gets.

I can assure you that this is a great product! I sweat more after 3 ten minute workouts than after my whole hour and a half at my gym! They may be only ten minutes but I guarantee you that they are intense! There are a lot more products available from Beachbody. Women will probably like Turbo Jam which is like a dance party workout. I've been training almost daily since I received my 10 minute trainer and I can see great results on myself! My fat percentage went down and I also feel much stronger everywhere. I previously thought that doing long complete workouts 3 times a week was enough (and I'm not saying it is bad) but now I know for sure that it is better to train 5 to 6 times a week even if it is for shorter periods each time. And it is much easier to train more often when you can do so in the comfort of your home!

But I'm not saying that I canceled my gym account. In fact, the more possibilities you have to remain active, the better! Plus variety is very important in exercising since your muscles get rapidly used to always doing the same thing over and over. You will limit your potential a lot if you don't change your workouts regularly. That's why I still go to the gym once in while and do my long workout.

But working out is not the only key in being in good physical shape. All of your exercising can be wasted if you don't eat right. More on that in a future post!

Let's talk Nutrition

Eating...everyone loves to eat. It's an essential part of our life and we have to do it to survive. But you must know that you can literally ruin this life if you are always eating bad.

Ask yourself : do you truly know what you are eating? You often hear talking about calories but do you know exactly how many calories you must eat each day? I think I'll clarify this right now. The exact number is never the same for anyone since it depends on the age, height, weight as well as the frequency and the intensity of physical activities. But usually, the average total count per day for a normal person is around 2000 calories. If you eat more calories than you need in a day, you will gain weight. If you eat less calories than what you need then you will loose weight. It's simple and logical!

If you are really active physically and have a big muscle mass or want to gain weight (muscles) then you will have to eat more, around 2500 up to 3000 calories. But if you want to loose weight then you should eat around 1200 to 1800 calories a day. One very important thing is that you should never eat less than 1200 calories a day, even if you want to loose weight. Why? Because when you eat less than those 1200 calories your body becomes in "panic mode". Your body will think that you crashed on a desert island and don't have enough food available to you. So what will it do? It will begin to store fat in your body so that you could "survive" as long as possible. And when you want to loose weight, you usually already have enough fat to loose so you really don't want to create more, especially by not eating enough.

So always check what you eat. This 1200 calories minimum "rule" is not an excuse for you to eat bad stuff just to reach your count. If you realize at the end of the day that you have eaten about only 900 calories, don't plunge into the cookie jar or grab yourself a giant chocolate bar. This would ruin all your efforts! Eat fruits and vegetables or whole grain cereals rich in fibers.

Now you probably will ask me how can you know how many calories you are eating? I will show you here an example of a random nutrition facts label (that you should always take time to check by the way) :


First, always take a look at the portion size. Here it's one bowl or 300g. Let's say you are looking at the nutrition facts for cookies and the portion size is set to 2 cookies, but you are always eating 4, then obviously you will have to double all the numbers you are seeing on the label to know how much you are truly eating. Next you see the total number of calories. That's your important number.

Another way to calculate calories is with the number of grams of fat, carbohydrates and proteins. Here are the facts :
1 gram of carbohydrate = 4 calories
1 gram of protein = 4 calories
1 gram of fat = 9 calories.

You see that each gram of fat as more than twice the amount of calories than carbs and proteins! That's why it so important to avoid foods that have a huge amount of fat. They make your total calorie count go up at lightning speed!

Let's just validate those number with our example above :
53g of carbs x 4 = 212.
19g of fats x 9 = 171.
15g of proteins x 4 = 60.

212 + 171 + 60 = 443 Bingo!
